Being consistent in your life choices is an important aspect of living a successful life. But that doesn’t mean that it’s easy.
Here are several reasons why consistency might be hard for you:
Just getting started
When you start anything, it’s hard work. Firstly, you need to understand that anything is difficult the first time you do it.
But, the more proactive you can be, the easier it is to persevere and begin what you mean to finish!
Distraction and procrastination
I’m sure you would rather do anything else except that important task.
Procrastination means that you are keeping yourself busy with other things.
Rather than avoiding a task, think of it as something that’s important AND fun. You’ll see how rewarding it will be once you get it done.
Time
I’ve mentioned planning – time and time again; but this is because if you don’t set time aside to specifically do something, it will never get done!
Prioritise your life choices
We all need to eat and sleep, so you need to treat certain tasks in the same way. This may sound easier said than done, but creating a slot of time where you don’t allow yourself to start anything else until you have cracked on with what you are avoiding, will seem a lot easier to focus on it as a priority.
Is it really important?
Are you finding that if you do try to prioritise it, you are slipping into many other important aspects of your life? If this is the case, ask yourself if it’s really necessary and what can be done about it.
This doesn’t mean giving up on it so that you have more time to binge what that show, but really consider what your end goal is, and how much of your valuable time is it worth?
As with you anyone, you want to achieve and this means taking charge of what’s important in your life and being consistent about the life choices that you make.
