How To Beat Anxiety

Last week, I discussed the difference between anxiety and depression.

This week, I want to help you to conquer anxiety so that it doesn’t impact your life.


Step one is to connect to the anxiety.

This is easier said than done as you have always been told to forget about the more difficult or negative emotions – to just be happy.

You have, therefore, become an expert at distancing yourself from negative emotions. What this means is that you can never understand the message of those feeling so they keep on returning.

This is why you feel anxious about some things whereas other people don’t.


And this leads to step two which is to listen to the message.

Unlike depression, anxiety is trying to help motivate or prepare yourself and get you what you want.

If you can stop suppressing the anxiety you can understand it’s motive.


And the last step is to action anxiety’s message.

The difficult part is actioning the message. This can seem scary or risky but will lead to growth and control.

For example, doing YouTube videos used to fill me with anxiety. I would think what would I say? What happens if I get stuck and am just wasting my time?

So, instead of feeling anxious about doing videos or not doing videos at all, I listened to the anxiety and thought that if I don’t feel prepared, I need to prepare what I am going to say.

I started writing scripts for my video’s which helped me to feel more prepared and in control.

What anxiety is trying to help you do is take back control of your life.

That’s easier said than done as sometimes you can feel powerless or scared to try something new, but if you can learn to listen to it and use anxiety’s message, you can achieve anything you set out to achieve and live the life you always wanted to.
