At the core of my practice is the therapeutic relationship - building trust, empathy and understanding so that you feel truly heard and your feelings are validated.

My favourite quote is...

This quote has always felt personal to me. I know from my own experience what it is like to feel shaped by things that happened early in life. I also know through my experience of therapy that this is not fixed. The patterns we are given are not the patterns we are stuck with. This belief rests at the heart of how I work.

I became a Therapist because..

I was helped by therapy at various stages in my life. I could see the huge value in having that safe space away from everyday life to help gain perspective and a better understanding of myself and my feelings.

I now see it as a privilege to be able to help my clients:

  • gain a better understanding of their own feelings and patterns
  • feel truly heard, often for the first time
  • recognise that where they started is not where they have to stay

My favourite colour is...

Blue.

Calm, clear and grounding………….

I am going to help you by..

Hearing you in the here-and-now, and giving you the space to arrive exactly as you are.

Session by session, I’ll help you gently untangle what is going on for you, spot the patterns underneath it, and start to see things with more clarity. As an integrative therapist, I can draw from different approaches depending on what suits you best.

This could mean:

  • understanding how early experiences shaped your current difficulties
  • using CBT tools to help you manage anxiety, low mood or stress
  • understanding the effect that harmful or toxic relationships may have had on you, help you gain clarity on the dynamics and rebuild your confidence and sense of self
  • if your issues stem from childhood trauma, I can introduce you to the IFS model, which is effective in relieving issues such as a deep-seated sense of worthlessness, persistent ‘inner critics’, perfectionism, and certain addictive behaviours

Whichever approach we adopt, it is my firm belief that it is always the underlying therapeutic relationship that heals, and this can lead to a shift in your perspective, and your understanding of yourself. Using my caring and warm approach, I will work collaboratively with you to find a better path forward.

In our sessions we will...

1 We can start with you telling me what is on your mind, in whatever order it emerges

2 We will explore this together, session by session, so that I can understand the fuller picture behind it

3 I will notice the patterns as they emerge, often linked to early life or attachment, and gently reflect them back to you

4 Gradually we will untangle things one thread at a time, so that what once felt overwhelming starts to make sense

5 I will help you leave each stage of the work feeling a little lighter, clearer and less weighted down

We will review the work regularly, so you always know where things stand, and where we’re heading.

My most impactful experience was..

For a long time, I believed certain patterns were simply ‘who I am’, shaped by my early family dynamics.

Through my own therapy, I learned that is not true, and that I could develop a whole new relationship with myself. It is this relationship that is ultimately the truest and most important one.

Less is Now

Our culture pushes us to fill our lives with possessions and objects, in the hope that we might feel fulfilled, satisfied or validated. This documentary helped me realise how empty (and addictive) a promise this is, and how liberating it is to detach oneself from its influence.
