I'm here to help you bridge the gap between looking like you are coping and actually coping.
I am going to help you by..
Exploring how your past and current relationships have gotten you where you are now
Gaining an understanding what makes you hold on to relationship and patterns of behaviour that no longer serve you
Exploring why there is a disconnect between what you are thinking and the actions you take due to your feelings.
Empowering you to take ownership of your life rather than living at the mercy of anxiety, sadness and fear
Figuring out together what you need to change in order to move forward.
In our sessions we will...
build connection and trust to allow you to be comfortable while exploring what brings you to therapy
work together to better understand your patterns and how they affect your life through honest conversations and without judgement
use the time and space to help you figure out the best way forward for you
We will have a free 15-20 minute consultation call to make sure we're a good fit. Then, weekly sessions last 50 minutes and can be in person or online depending on your preference.
To get a better sense of me, here's a short of me explaining how mental health affects our daily actions.
I became a Therapist because..
I have always felt passionate about mental health. I saw the benefits of therapy both personally and from friends and family, so after studying Psychology and volunteering at Samaritans, I decided to follow through and become a psychotherapist full time.
Since then, I have worked with a variety of clients from those who face every day issues such as low mood, life stage change or uncertainty to the ones that face mental health issues and abuse both past and present.
Most recently, I have found myself interested in incorporating a more holistic view into my practise to support my clients in reaching their chosen goals. This had led me to start my training with Hintsa as a performance coach.
My favourite quote is...
Trust is the active engagement with the unknown. Trust is risky. It's vulnerable. It's a leap of faith. - Esther Perel
I'm currently watching..
I have started rewatching The Good Place recently and still love it. Chidi’s decision paralysis and anxiety around doing the wrong thing is something I see so often in therapy and certainly have also felt myself.
I'm currently reading..
I love this book as an account of why people stay in abusive relationships and why they end up leaving.
I'm currently listening to...
As a therapist and a human being, I love Stardew Valley. A lot of it seems to create a sense of wellbeing for me. And a huge part of the experience is the music. 10 years on and I still love the game and the music.
